In 2002 the company moved to their current 9 acre site in Deptford Terrace, Sunderland and invested over £2 million pounds creating a new Materials Recycling Facility (MRF).
This move prompted a huge growth period for the company and was followed by accreditations to ISO 14001 the International Environment Standard and OHSA 18001 the National Occupational Health & Safety Management Standard and also an accreditation to the Contractors Health & Safety Management Scheme (CHAS).
With landfill tax escalating every year the company needed to invest in a longer term solution for the sorting of waste, therefore in the Spring of 2009 an extension was completed to the MRF This is the culmination of a project costing in the region of £4 million pounds.
The purpose of this project was to improve our sorting process and so reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.
The facility is also licenced to take asbestos and Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
Recycled products include Crushed Secondary Aggregates and Fine Screened Soils (both to ISO standards).
Paper, Plastics, Newspapers, Magazines and Cardboard are baled and sold to re-processors. Glass, Cans, Wood and Scrap are also recycled.
Recycling figures are produced for customers on request and assistance is given to companies to complete site waste management plans.
